Just two best friends that decided to open a bookstore together and adopt two cats. (Although, Pumpkin mostly adopted us.)

Jennifer & Samantha met in 2020 working at another job together. When they realized they wanted a calm environment where they could hangout every day and read books, Cozy and Content was born. They would go on to adopt Buddy, the first store cat. Buddy was a shelter cat who had been de-clawed by his previous owners, and in result had severe anxiety. Jennifer took him home to live comfortably and continue to build his giant ego. It was decided then that they still needed a store cat. It was a necessity. They went on a trip to the Cats at Play Cafe in Asheville, NC and met Stormy. Stormy was actually right at the door and was ready to go. She transitioned to the store wonderfully. She loves people and loves all of the pets you can give her. Fast forward to October of 2023 when Samantha saw a cat wandering around outside of the store. She yelled for Jennifer “JENNIFER, there is a BEAUTIFUL cat outside!” Naturally, they went out to investigate. Pumpkin had a way of fooling you- pretending to be a sweet and precious baby. Food. She just wanted food. She came for the food and stayed for the food. She is a spicy girl. Because of the timing and the attitude, she was named officially. Pumpkin Spice.
